The CAD mechanical rotary drum thickener thickens sludge by gravity and centrifugal force, made possible by the rotating drum.
The mechanical thickener is used as a stand-alone unit in applications where a first sludge thickening step is needed, or it can be used to pre-treat sludge in the dewatering process, discharging the thickened sludge directly into the dewatering unit.
The CAD MECHANICAL THICKENER consists of the following components:
- Support structure made of hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel plates;
- Inlet pipes;
- Sludge–polymer reaction cylinder with bottom inlet and top outlet, fitted with a variable-speed agitator (7 to 35 rpm);
- Rotating drum in stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized steel (depending on the version ordered), controlled by a speed variator from 2,5 to 12,5 rpm;
- Sludge collection tank in hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel (depending on the version ordered)
- Washing system consisting of:
- Centrifugal pump
- Brass or stainless steel spray nozzles (depending on the version ordered)
