Sita UV 80/2 LCD UV Steriliser
The Sita UV 80/2 LCD belongs to the LCD series of UV sterilisers, which feature a multifunctional control panel and low-pressure UV-C lamps. The UV chamber is made of AISI 304 or 316L stainless steel and the panel of plastic or painted steel. It is designed for water with good UV transmittance – mains water, well water and industrial water.
UV-C radiation (λ = 254 nm) acts on the DNA and RNA of bacteria and viruses and stops them from reproducing, without adding chemicals and without changing the taste of the water.
For effective disinfection, a pre-filter should be installed before the steriliser. If the water contains more than 0.3 ppm of iron or suspended solids, a film can form on the quartz sleeve, which must then be cleaned periodically – how often depends on the water quality.
