Sulzer JWC Muffin Monster™ sewage grinders with Wipes Ready technologies – eliminating the problems caused by synthetic wipes in sewer systems

Muffin Monster™ sewage grinders are available with the unique Wipes Ready technology suite. They are designed to capture wipes in wastewater and shred them into small pieces that can no longer re-weave in sewers.

The Wipes Ready technologies built into Muffin Monster™ sewage grinders are:

• Wipes Ready cutters * – A combination of serrated cutters and grooved spacers shreds wipes in 2 directions, producing smaller particles that do not collect downstream.
• Delta P side rails – direct solids into the cutters without reducing flow and prevent debris from building up in the grinder.
• Optimised Cutting Control (OCC)* – The gearbox reduction ratio optimises the shaft speed for efficient cutting and cutter cleaning, increasing performance and service life.

Sludge used to produce biogas usually contains significant amounts of solids such as rags, plastics, fibres and metals, which damage pumps and mixers in digesters and clog heat exchangers. This leads to significant costs for repairs and downtime.
