AGITATION PHILOSOPHY
Agitation is an integrated phase of several processes. In each phase it is essential to reach the desired process results using the lowest amount of energy possible. Stronger agitation is not improving the process, but will only increase the energy cost.
In order to achieve the desired result, Sulzer uses Degree of Agitation (DA), practically shown as the liquid velocity at surface.

ENERGY SAVING PROPELLERS
The patented Scaba High flow Propeller, SHP, was the first on the market to offer a process guarantee. The propeller has fixed optimised blade angle and a variable pitch would give lower efficiency for all other angles. This gives not only the lowest possible power consumption, but also a stable and trouble free operation, since the risk of uneven forces on the different blades is eliminated. The wide spanning range of propellers enables us to select the optimum element for each individual application.

BEARINGS
The agitator is designed for heavy duty applications and bearing lifetime is at least 100 000 hours.

LONGER LIFETIME AND LOW SERVICE COST
The low vibrations of the SHP propeller give low stress on the shaft, bearings and belt drive.

LUBRICATION
Grease lubricated bearings.

SIDE MOUNTED AGITATORS
The side mounted agitators can be supplied with either gear box or belt drive.
The good axial flow makes it possible for the liquid motion to reach the opposite side of the tank with side entering agitators.
Scaba side mounted agitators are designed so that the seal can be maintained, serviced or exchanged without removing the agitator, if gland packing is used
For all sizes a support foot under the drive unit is included in the delivery.

TOP MOUNTED AGITATORS
The agitators are of a robust, modular design and can be combined with various types of drive units, seals and impellers. Due to this flexibility, the agitators can be adapted optimally to the needs of the process.
The drive unit selected is determined by the process requirements and the customer’s requirements.
The agitator can be equipped with gears, parallel shaft gears, bevel gears or V-belt drives.
